I recently purchased a large, expensive collection of papers from the estate of Edward Thomas Cole (c. 1789 - November 20, 1855) of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. Included in the collection were several photos of unidentified individuals. I am going to include copies of each photograph in this blog, hoping that perhaps someone will recognize them. The families involved were most likely: Cole, Beal, Beale, Thompson, Bing, Hudson, Andrews and Eubank. I am a descendant of Edward and his wife Ann Eliza Beal Cole thorough their son, James Bartley Cole.The first photograph was taken in 1872 and shows an older man in a suit.
